NSFA, Panacan, Davao City- On the release of Sgt. Adriano Bingil by the CPP/NPA, the Eastern Mindanao Command recognizes the gesture of the NPA. It is hoped that they will continue with such gestures of peace and goodwill by abandoning the armed struggle and putting a stop to their extortion activities and attacks against development projects.
It can be recalled that Sgt. Bingil was abducted while he was on his way to send money to his family. Bingil's family is just relieved that Sgt. Bingil was finally released.
The Eastern Mindanao Command is open to talk peace and will accept NPA members who would like to return to mainstream society.
Sgt. Bingil of 26th Infantry Battalion was abducted by NPA members of guerilla front 88, in KM 16, Brgy. Policarpo, San Luis, Agusan del Sur (ADS) last September 19, 2015. He was released in the afternoon of December 31, through the efforts of Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) Bishop Felixberto Calang; San Luis, ADS Mayor Ronaldo Corvera; and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in Brgy. Durian, Las Nieves, Agusan Del Norte.
The NPA’s armed capability has declined that is why they have degenerated into a lawless group devoid of ideology and are now engaged in criminal activities like abduction, arson and extortion.
