66th Infantry Battalion Yields Cached High-Powered Firearms, Explosives in Compostela

COMPOSTELA, ComVal Province – The soldiers of 66IB recovered three (3) high-powered firearms in a cache left by the CPP/NPA members in Brgy. Ngan, Compostela, Compostela Valley Province around 1:00 p.m., February 28, 2016.


The location of the 2 M16 and a Garand rifles were tipped-off by a civilian to the soldiers.

The soldiers also recovered 3 rifle grenades and several medical paraphernalia in the same area.

66IB Commander Lt. Col. Gilbert Roy Ruiz said that the said firearms were left by the NPA members who were responsible for IED attacks, harassment and in extortion activities in the area.
