MAWAB, Compostela Valley Province - The 10ID Multi-Sector Advisory and Action Group (MSAAG) met with a new set of members last March 3, 2016 at Headquarters 10ID, CGMTY, Brgy Tuboran, Mawab, Compostela Valley Province.
Organized in 2013, the MSAAG serves as an advisory body to the 10ID’s organizational transformation to include the unit’s peace and development efforts in Davao Region, which is in pursuit of the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR). Composed of members representing various sectors of society, it is reorganized after its members reached the maximum tenure of two years.
The MSAAG is now made up of ten civilian stakeholders, half of whom were original members of the body who will serve for a year. The five new members will serve for two years. Prior to the conduct of the regular meeting, the 10ID Commander, MGen Rafael C Valencia, officiated the Pledge of Commitment of the members.
Mr Ednar Carlos G Dayanghirang was reappointed as the MSAAG Chairman. Selected Chairpersons of the different Committees are: Atty Jesus Dureza for the Committee on Strategic Communications with Dr Guillermo Torres Jr as Co-Chair; Mr Antonio dela Cruz for the Governance Committee; Mr Randy Ponteras for the Committee on Assessment and Review; Dr Rhodora Gail Ilagan PhD for the Peace and Development Committee; and Ms Hope Fernandez for the Human Rights Committee. Other members of the MSAAG are Father Juan Macalisang of the Diocese of Digos, Mayor Allan Rellon of Tagum City, and Mr Jeffrey Jess Mataro.
The MSAAG also unanimously adopted and approved its Board Protocol during the meeting. Also discussed during the meeting were issues on the implementation of the ATR, gender and development, and strategic communications. Committee meetings were also scheduled in the coming weeks to discuss respective issues and concerns that will contribute to the improvement of 10ID towards good governance and performance excellence.
Officers of 10ID who attended the meeting include the Brigade Commanders and the division staffs.
In his closing remarks, MGen Valencia stated that “the 10ID is very fortunate to have credible and well-respected members of MSAAG who shall act as conscience of our transformation and peace and development efforts.”
