CPP/NPA fails to Execute Terroristic Plan in Bukidnon

IMPASUG-ONG, Bukidnon-An armed clash took place between the soldiers of 8th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army and suspected NPA members of SPP 5, Guerilla Front 6, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee in the outskirts of Brgy. Delapa, Quezon, Bukidnon in the afternoon of March 17, 2016. There was no casualty on the government side while it is believed that there are casualties on the NPA side due to the bloodstains found by the troops along the NPA’s withdrawal route

The patrolling soldiers apprehended 12 male persons (7 were minors) in the encounter site for possessing ammunition, magazines and trigger mechanism of AK-47 rifle. The apprehended individuals were immediately turned over to the local PNP for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges. However, the 7 minors were immediately turned over to DSWD as provided by law while the 5 adults were charged of illegal possession of ammunition and attempted murder.

The security operations in the area was in response to repeated reports by concerned citizens about the presence of lawless armed group whom they revealed to have been planning to conduct burnings and attack against vital economic installations in the municipality of Quezon; and Valencia City.

Meanwhile, NPA cohorts published a false report that there were 8 soldiers who were killed during the clash on March 17, 2016 in Brgy. Delapa, Quezon, Bukidnon in their desperate attempt to fool the public and to boost the dwindling morale of the NPA members.

8IB Commander Lt. Col. Lennon G. Babilonia condemned the NPA leaders and their spokespersons, for continuously lying in every turn to the public and to their minions in the field. "We condemn the NPA leaders for always giving false information to the public and to their members just to serve their deceptive cause. This is a strong indicator that the NPA, as a criminal organization, is losing. Hence, they resort to lies and deceits from which they cannot be held responsible and accountable because they hide under their false names or aliases. In this recent armed encounter, we know that there were NPA members who were wounded. We are asking you to go down so that we can give you proper medical attention. Do not believe in your irresponsible leaders who will only leave you for dead in times of dire need. This incident and waste of lives and limbs should not have happened if only we value peace as an important factor in addressing local issues in the community, and if we condemn and despise violence as a means of solving these local issues, such as that which is being pursued by the armed struggle of the NPA”, Lt. Col. Babilonia said
