MACO, Compostela Valley Province- Roberto Hiyan alyas Bobby Dallas, Commanding Officer (CO) of Milisya ng Bayan (MB) of Dallas, Pentagon and Sapang Lubog with 12 of his followers returned to the folds of the law on March 19, 2016 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Headquarters 1001st Infantry Brigade.
Bobby with alyas Bebiano, Remno, Benigno and Isagani voluntarily submitted themselves to the operating troops of 46th Infantry Battalion at Sitio Diat Palo, Barangay Napnapan, Pantukan. Recovered with them are one M60 general purpose machine gun (GPMG), two M16A1 Armalite rifles, two rocket propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, one small improvised explosive device (IED) with detonating device, blasting cap and battery, one commercial high frequency (HF) radio with charger and voluminous subversive documents.
Upon learning that Bobby has abandoned the armed struggle, eight other MB members together with their families also submitted themselves to 46IB at Sitio Logpaton, Barangay Kingking, Pantukan to return to the folds of law. Their identities could not yet be revealed for security reasons. The former MBs and their families were immediately evacuated out of the area for security considerations.
Combined elements of 10ID and LGUs of Compostela Valley Province (CVP) and Pantukan immediately facilitated their return to the folds of the law. The 10ID medical team and chaplain service together with the CVP PSWDO; Pantukan MHO, MSWD and MPS; and personnel of 46IB and 1001st Brigade conducted medical assessment and initial counseling of the former MBs and their families. They were also provided with food packs and immediate personal needs.
Col. Macairog Alberto, commander of 1001st Brigade warmly appreciated the abandonment of armed struggle of Bobby and 12 others. “Their return was the result of our intensified operations and our sincere intention to assist them in joining the mainstream society. We facilitated their immediate evacuation due to the hardships, misery and threats from the armed lawless group. They chose to trust us and they realized that peace and development is the solution. We further encourage the other members of the armed lawless group to abandon the armed struggle and return to the folds of law”, Col. Alberto said
