NSFA, Panacan, Davao City- The Acting Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines (ACSAFP) Lt. Gen. Glorioso V. Miranda and the Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Eduardo M. Año visited headquarters Eastern Mindanao Command at Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City in the morning of April 28, 2016.
EastMinCom Commander (EMC) Lt. Gen. Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero welcomed Lt. Gen. Miranda and Lt. Gen. Año with traditional arrival honors. The field commanders, unified command staff and enlisted personnel composed the reception line during the said visit.
During the talk to personnel, Lt. Gen. Miranda reminded the troops to remain apolitical. "Let us remain apolitical and create an environment that will allow the people to choose our leaders freely without intimidation"
The ACSAFP further encouraged Team EastMinCom to continue the efforts with other stakeholders to win the peace in Eastern Mindanao.
The ACSFP was former Commander of Northern Luzon Command based in Tarlac City while CGPA was former Commander of 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army based in Mawab, Compostela Valley Province.
