EMC-NFEM Conducts Joint Mass CPR Training

NSFA, Panacan, Davao City –The Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) under Lt. Gen. Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero and Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) under Commo. Elson K. Aguilar jointly conducted mass cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training in collaboration with the Department of Health, Philippine Red Cross and American Heart Association at NFEM Grandstand at 9:00 a.m., April 25, 2016.



140 personnel who are soldiers and civilian staff from EMC and NFEM joined the training through the efforts of Camp Panacan Station Hospital (CPSH) personnel.


The training was part of the CPSH’s advocacy to disseminate the value of learning and applying CPR whenever necessary in order to save lives. Moreover, this is to support the eventual passage of the age appropriate basic life support bill which was once enacted shall create awareness and refine capability development on CPR and other lifesaving skills.



CPSH Chief Nurse Maj. Madeleine B. Ersando said that she was glad to facilitate the training. “This training will help save lives of our troops especially during armed engagement in the ground. May the learning we have imparted be useful to our soldiers”, Maj. Ersando said

CPSH Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Ma. Jesica M. Vallangca said that heart attack can happen anytime, anywhere. “The CPSH emphasized the significance of learning CPR in order to save lives, conserve the fighting strength of the troops and that the next life that they will save maybe the life of their loved ones”, Lt. Col. Vallangca said
