Students and teachers of a AFP Logistics Command Elementary School also participated in the Nationwide Earthquake Drill. |
The exercise which started at around 9AM had two phases; Phase I involved the immediate action after a disaster which includes local evacuation and rescue within NSFA, while the second phase focused on the role of EMC in the four regions of eastern Mindanao namely Regions X, XI, XII & XIII; being the lead agency in Search Rescue and Retrieval.
The exercise included the simulation of battle staff action as part of the command and control mechanism and integration to the Incident Command System, and restoration of communication lines particularly with operating units in eastern Mindanao. Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment was also simulated being the initial reference in the prioritization of assets within the inventory and deployment of troops.
