MAWAB, Comval Province – The 10th Infantry Division put under arrest a soldier assigned with the 10th Division Training School (10DTS) suspected of pilfering and selling ammunition on Friday morning, September 23, 2016.
The arrested suspect was identified as Sgt Jeffrey Ordoño, assigned as a training Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of candidate soldiers at the 10DTS.
Per report, Sgt. Ordoño has pilfered around 1,000 live ammunition and sold it to civilians.
Sgt. Ordoño is now detained at Headquarters 10ID for further investigation. He will be facing charges for violation of Articles of War 85 also known as “waste and unlawful disposition of military property”. If evidence warrants, he shall either undergo administrative or judicial proceedings which may include trial by court martial.

MGen. Rafael Valencia, 10ID Commander sternly warned that scalawags within the military organization shall be dealt with accordingly. He further directed unit Commanders to properly counsel, coach and mentor their subordinates on how to deal with personal problems that could cause soldiers to commit offenses.
