NSFA, Panacan, Davao City - On board PUJs, more than a hundred students from Holy Cross College of Calinan arrived at the Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City in the morning of November 5, 2016 for a military camp educational tour and excursion.
They were received by soldiers from the Air Force, Navy and Army led by Colonel Cornelio Arboleda, the Commander of the 5th Civil Relations Group (5CRG) and Colonel Glenn Jun Calambuhay, the Assistant Chief of the Unified Command Staff for C-MO.
During the one-day excursion, the students were able have a glimpse of the Armed Forces of the Philippines as an organization and its capabilities.
They were allowed to tour the camp and witness the capability demonstration of the army infantry squad from 10th Infantry Division Naval Special Warfare Unit, Disaster Response Unit and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
Likewise, the visiting students were given the chance to board a military vessel, a helicopter and an armored vehicle while some were given a joy ride in a helicopter
5CRG, 10th CMO Battalion and Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao provided the students with educational lecture and military audio-visual presentation to raise their understanding and appreciation of the AFP, particularly, in Eastern Mindanao.
The activity culminated with a boodle fight.
