AFP-PNP in Eastern Mindanao and Western Mindanao collaborate to strengthen joint peace and security mechanism


NSFA, Panacan, Davao City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines - Philippine National Police Area Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (AJPSCC) in Eastern Mindanao and Western Mindanao convened its first meeting for Calendar Year 2017 last February 23, 2017 at the Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City.

Lt General Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero AFP, Commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command, together with Police Director Alexander Ignacio, Director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Eastern Mindanao (DIPO-EM) and Police Director Manuel B. Felix, Director of DIPO Western-Mindanao (DIPO-WM), as Co-Chairpersons of the AJPSCC, led the meeting which was attended by the heads and planners of Police Regional Offices of Region X, XI, XII and XIII; Eastern Mindanao Command; 10th Infantry Division; 4th Infantry Division; Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao and Tactical Operations Group X and XI of the Philippine Air Force.



The activity was conducted to assess the security situation in Eastern Mindanao and parts of Western Mindanao. Through the signing of a Joint Action Plan for CY 2017, the AFP and PNP units and offices in Eastern Mindanao and parts of Western Mindanao will continuously conduct regular joint undertakings particularly in conducting peace and security assessments; delivering community support programs in compliance to the priority thrusts of the national government; and in maintaining peace and order in the whole Eastern Mindanao and parts of Western Mindanao.


The AJPSCC was created on October 2013 purposely to serve as a hub for coordination and collaborative actions between the AFP and the PNP in Eastern Mindanao, particularly in dealing with and in addressing the various peace and security concerns.
