MARTIAL LAW UPDATE| JPSCC convenes for Martial Law


LT. GENERAL Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, Commander of Eastern Mindanao Command and the designated Martial Law implementor in Eastern Mindanao called for and presided in a Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center Conference on May 30, 2017 purposely to asses, update and discuss the implementation of Martial Law after it was declared on May 23, 2017.

The conference was attended to by the different Commanders of units under EMC, Director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations- Eastern Mindanao (DIPO-EM) and Police Regional Office Directors in Eastern Mindanao.


During the conference, attendees gave update on their present effort and shared best practices in the implementation of security operations in their respective areas of jurisdiction. Further legal procedures were discussed and additional inputs were taken to improve the rules of engagement and the police operational procedures in the implementation of Martial Law.



Lt General Guerrero reiterated his guidance on the respect of human rights and adherence to the rule of law. Further he directed units to activate Martial Law Coordinating Centers in their own level and closely coordinate with Local Government Units in their respective areas on the updates and implementation of local ordinances.

Meanwhile, PCSupt Jose L Gentiles, Director-EM committed the full support to EMC as the Martial Law primary unit implementor.
