The directive came after a video was aired nationwide in all TV stations noon time of June 12, 2017 as tribute to the fallen soldiers.
Also, yesterday noon in all camps under Eastern Mindanao Command, after the celebration of Independence Day, taps were sounded, church bells were rung, while naval ships and military vehicles blow their siren as way of mourning.
Meanwhile, BGen. Gilbert I. Gapay, Spokesperson for Martial Law Implementation in Eastern Mindanao expressed his grief over the death of the soldiers in Marawi.
"We mourn for the death of our soldiers who died fighting in the quest of peace. Their ultimate sacrifice will not bring us to pieces, instead, motivate us to continuously do our mandate of securing the people from all threats to the last drop of our blood." BGen Gapay said.
BGen Gapay further called on the support of the people in the quest of peace.
"We call on to the peace-loving Filipinos to continue praying and supporting our communities, our government and our troops as we continue to win peace in our midst." he added.
