NSFA, PanaCan, Davao City - Cayamora Maute a suspected member of the Maute Group and four others who were intercepted and arrested 10 o’clock in the morning of June 6, 2017, by the Joint AFP/PNP elements at Task Force Davao Checkpoint in Sirawan, Toril, Davao City were already transferred to Manila night of June 7, 2017.
The transfer came upon the request of the Davao City Police Office which was granted by the Prosecutor. They were transferred via C-130.
Cayamora, the father of the notorious Maute brothers involved in the Marawi incident is with his daughter Norjannah Maute and three others when the apprehension was made.
They were riding on a black Toyota Grandia bearing plate number MES 219 when they attempted to pass the established checkpoint.
Accordingly, the searching troops is in doubt of a certain object being concealed in a pile of clothes inside a van that prompted them to conduct thorough search, which eventually led to the arrest of the suspect. He was identified via a photo gallery posted in the checkpoint.
During his apprehension he was in possession of several identification cards with fictitious names. Also in their possession was cash worth 363,000 pesos, a pistol and an improvised explosive device.
Following are the identity of the apprehended:
1. Norhana Balawag Maute (Daughter of Cayamora)
2. Kongan Alfonso Balawag (2nd wife of Cayamora & mother of Norhana)
3. Aljon Salazar Ismael (Driver)
4. Benzarali I. Tingao
