The Forum was participated in by different personalities coming from the youth, security, religious, academe, Bangsamoro, Indigenous Peoples and other sectors of the society.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of topics in line with violent extremism. Dr. Mark Anthony Torres of the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao based in Mindanao State University - Marawi City led the discussant and provided the participants the general perspective of Violent Extremism, the "push and pull" factors, Marawi perspective and some recommendations based on the institution’s research.
On the other hand, Al Qualam Institute on Islamic Studies through Mr. Qamar Guiani and Ms. Althea Esmael presented the current programs and researches on preventing extremism, while Mr. Ednar Dayanghirang presented the prevention of violent extremism on the local government perspective by presenting the best practices of Davao Oriental.
The forum was meant to educate, propagate awareness and draw input and support in developing programs and activities in preventing extremism through the context of whole of nation approach.
