Six NPA Terrorist Surrender to 75IB

CAMP FERRER SR., Bislig City – Six members of the New People's Army in the area of Surigao del Sur laid down their arms and voluntarily surrendered to the troops of 75th Infantry Battalion on January 29, 2018, following its intensified military operations against the terrorist group.

The surrenderors identified themselves as Jonathan Navarro alias Rigor, Selbert Camarillo alias Keneth, Edelberto Navarro alias Joross, Merelena Navarro alias Lhea, Joebert Camarillo alias Rey, and Jomar Camarillo alias Roy.

Accordingly, they were convinced by their families to surrender through the continuous information dissemination of the 75IB and the LGUs on the plans and programs of the government for those who will surrender and avail the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP). They also stressed that extreme hunger, hardships, tiredness of hiding against the government forces and the lies and deceptions of the leadership of CPP/NPA made them surrender.

The six surrenderors also turned over one AK47, one M16A1, one improvised M14 rifles, one homemade shotgun, one cal.357 revolver and two hand grenades.

Meanwhile, the Commander of 75IB Ltc. Jaime Datuin welcomed the surrender of NPA rebels as he ensures that they will avail the CLIP of the government for them to start a new and peaceful life with their families.

"The 75th IB will continue to secure your safety as part of our mandated task of protecting the people and maintaining the peace in the area,” he added.
