Former Rebels on Educational Tour, Scheduled to dine with the President



NSFA, Panacan, Davao City - Around 217 of the 683 former members of the New People's Army (NPA) presented during the Former Rebels Summit last December 21 at Eastern Mindanao Command composed the first batch who were sent-off in the morning of February 6, 2018 at Tactical Operation Group XI, Sasa, Panacan, Davao City to go on an educational tour in Manila and dine with President Rodrigo Duterte at Malacanang on February 7, 2018.

The Former Rebels will be accorded with a welcome ceremony at the Tejeros Hall in Camp Aguinaldo at 8 o clock on February 7, 2018, and it will be presided by Gen. Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

On the following day, the surrenderers will have an educational tour at the Intramuros, MalacaƱang, and other historic places to encourage them to actively participate in nation-building and peace-building and awaken their nationalism prior to their scheduled dinner with the President.

In coordination with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, they will also be brought to the mushroom production and other farms in Bulacan to help them get ideas on how to improve their lives and be self-sustaining.

The trip is all-expense-paid.
