NPAs brutally kill Lumad Leader, Son


ASUNCION, Davao Del Norte –
A leader of an Indigenous People's group and his son were brutally murdered by CPP-NPA terrorists who forcibly entered their house at about 4 am February 4, 2018.

Datu Banadjao Mampaundag who recently attended the IP Leader’s Summit in Davao City and his son, Jhonard Mampaundag, both respected members of an Indigenous People's group and residents of Sitio Igang, Brgy Palma Gil, Talaingod, DDN, were treacherously shot to death inside their house.

The Talaingod Municipal Medical Team rushed to the scene to render assistance to the victims.

However, while en route to the site via Sto. Niño – Palma Gil, the medical team decided to hold back because of an explosion believed to be from an improvised explosive device (IED).

Based on available data from the period 2012 – 2017, there are 121 reported Lumad killings in the area of operation of the 60th Infantry Battalion.

Unfortunately this year, another two members of an IP group were added to the list of innocent and peace-loving people that were killed by CPP-NPA Terrorists.
