Troops Overrun NPA Terrorist Camp in SouthCot



MALUNGON, Sarangani - The troops of 27th Infantry Battalion (27IB) has encountered a group of NPA terrorist in Barangay Kimatu, T’boli, South Cotabato last Tuesday morning of May 8, 2018, while conducting a security operation.



Accordingly, the firefight lasted for 40 minutes and resulted in the recovery of a terrorist camp. Found thereat are foxholes, ammunition, food supplies, personal belongings and subversive documents. There was no report of casualty on the government side was while an undetermined number of casualty on the enemy side was anticipated because of the presence of bloodstains in the encounter site.

In the meantime, the government troops are conducting pursuit operation to the fleeing members of NPA terrorists.

Meanwhile, the Commander of 27IB, Lt. Col. Jones Brisal Otida encouraged the terrorist group to surrender and instead choose to live a normal life with the government.

“For those wounded terrorists and some others who are still hiding right now, it is high time for you to peacefully surrender and bring down your firearms to the folds of law, the government has a program that will provide livelihood assistance to help you start a living and avail the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) of our government," he said.

BGen. Roberto Ancan, the Commander of 1002nd Brigade also said that “the NPAs who are terrorizing our country shall be dealt with according to the provisions of the law.”

The 10ID is currently intensifying its focus military operations to thwart the planned atrocities of the NPA terrorists.
