In his message to the LOFA members, Governor Dayanghirang he assured that his administration will remain resolute in promoting their welfare.
"We will continue to support you and seek your welfare to heighten your morale in defending our community,” he said.
The governor emphasized that having a house that one can call his own is more than just an achievement that uplift the person's pride and morale but also serves as an assurance of a stable life and a promising future, especially to their families.
"Today, we break ground the housing project intended for the beneficiaries. Estimated by next year this 1.2-hectare community will become the home of our 60 CAAs. These shelters are not just physical structures that will protect the beneficiaries from the outside world. These are homes where families can share memories, nurture values and hope for a brighter future for their loved ones. This is the commitment of the government to answer the housing needs of our people particularly those who risk their lives to save our country with the utmost courage and integrity,” Dayanghirang said.
Lieutenant General Benjamin Madrigal Jr, AFP, Commander Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM) and the former Commander of 701st Infantry (Kagitingan) Brigade in his speech lauded the CAA beneficiaries for their relentless efforts to have a decent house for their families. He likewise thanked both the PLGU of Davao Oriental under the leadership of Gov. Dayanghirang and the City Government of Mati under Mayor Carlo Rabat for their support to the welfare of the CAAs.
“This project is a manifestation of the CAAs perseverance and productivity to reach their vision for their respective families and communities,’’ Lieutenant General Madrigal said.
Both the Provincial and City Government of Davao Oriental and Mati City will provide the construction materials for the 60 houses to be constructed within the 1.2-hectare residential site located in Barangay Mayo, Mati City. The land was purchased by the LOFA intended for its housing project way back in 2016. Also present during the activity were military officials led by Major General Noel Clement, AFP, Commander 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, PA, Major General Bienvenido Datuin AFP, Commander, Civil Relations Service, AFP; Major General Filemon Santos AFP, Commander, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division; Brigadier General Reuben Basiao, AFP, Commander, 701Bde, Lieutenant Colonel Davice Christopher Mercado, Commander 72nd Infantry (Gabay) Battalion, and Mr. Fernando Carmelo, Representative of Mayor Rabat.
