200,000 PPE arrives in Davao City via Phil Navy Ship



NSFA, Panacan, Davo City - The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) of the Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) facilitated the arrival of the 200,000 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) aboard the BRP Bacolod City (LS550) at Sasa Wharf, Sasa, Davao City earlier today, May 8, 2020.

Commodore Antonio C Palces AFP, the Commander of NFEM welcomed the officers and crew of BRP Bacolod City (LS550) who was tasked to haul the said PPE from Zhangzhou Harbor, Port of Xiamen, People’s Republic of China last April 21, 2020, after it was procured by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for the Department of Health.


Health protocols were also strictly observed during the arrival while quarantine procedures to the cargoes were undertaken by the Bureau of Quarantine prior to the turn-over of the equipment to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region XI, the agency that will lead the distribution of PPE to the Frontliners in the entire Mindanao.
