2 Amazon sisters reunite in Bukidnon

IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon - After two years of being apart, two sisters who were former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) rejoiced as they reunited inside the camp of the 8th Infantry "Dependable" Battalion in Poblacion, Impasugong, Bukidnon on September 17, 2020.

They were identified as alias Gaya and alias Peme, both Medics of different CTGs operating in Bukidnon.

It can be recalled that alias Peme, 28 years old surrendered with an M16 rifle to the government on November 16, 2018, after having realized the futile struggle with the CTG.

Alias Gaya, on the other hand, 25 years old, yielded herself to the government on September 17, 2020, after not being able to cope with hunger and fatigue within the terrorist groups.

The latter was surprised after she met her long lost sister facilitated by the 8th Infantry Battalion personnel at its Headquarters.

Alias Gaya expressed her gratitude with teary eyes.

“Dili nako mapugngan ang akong luha nga nakita ang akong igsoon human sa kadugayon sa panahon. Giguba sa NPA ang among malipayong pamilya. Dili ko gusto nga malayo pa usab sa ila. Mapasalamaton ako sa among gobyerno sa pagtabang kanako nga makauban ang akong pamilya pag-usab," she said (I can't hold my tears seeing my sister after a long time. The NPA destroyed our once happy family. I don't want to be far away from them again. I am grateful to our government for helping me to be reunited with my family again.)

"Nakabuhat og husto nga desisyon silang @Gaya ug @Peme nga mubiya sa walay pulos nga armadong grupo. Sa nahabilin nga mga NPA, surender na karon arun magkahiusa na kamo sa imong mga hinigugma ug mamuyo nga malinawon" said Lt. Col. Edgardo V. Talaroc Jr. Commanding Officer of 8th Infantry Battalion. (@Gaya and @Peme made the right decision to abandon the worthless armed group. To the remaining NPAs, surrender now and be reunited with your loved ones and live peacefully again.)

Alias Peme completely received her Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) benefits while her younger sister will be processed to receive benefits from the said program.
