Amidst Pandemic, Gov’t Distributes Medical Kits to IPs in SurNor

KITCHARAO, Agusan del Norte - Despite the increasing cases of COVID-19 infections in the country, the government remains hopeful that this health challenge will come to an end.

Consistent with this positive outlook, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) represented by Mrs Marcy Dulpina, the Community Development Officer, and the Community Support Team (CST) of the 29IB distributed hygiene kits recently in P-3 Brgy. Ima, Sison, Surigao del Norte.

The hygiene kits will be of great help to the Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC/IPs) in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus and the increase in the number of positive cases in the area, especially now that the area has already one confirmed case of Covid-19.

Lt. Col. Isagani O. Criste, Commanding Officer of 29IB said, "We cannot deny the alarming effect and anxiety that this pandemic has brought us, for who would not fear an unseen enemy? But despite this, let us not forget that there will always be something that we can do and that is to continuously strengthen our immune system, follow safety health measures, and most of all strengthen our relationship and faith in God, who is in control of everything. Let us therefore help and care for each other and fight the unseen enemy of the deadly pandemic and the evil terrorists."
