DA-ATI, Army conduct livelihood training at Gabay Farm School

MAGPET, Cotabato - Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)- Regional Training Center XII under Department of Agriculture (DA)-Magpet in collaboration with Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) and partnership with 72 Infantry Battalion initiated a 3-Day Training on Backyard Organic Free-Range Chicken to 20 selected farmers of Magpet, Cotabato that commenced earlier this day, September 08, 2020 at the newly opened Integrated Farm School of 72IB located at Barangay Pangao-an, Municipality of Magpet.

The said seminar will be a series of lectures, discussions and practical demonstration on poultry industry in the country, benefits of organic farming and production management of Free-Range Chicken.

The opening program was attended by Ms. Donabelle Cabaya, Farm Manager/LSA Cooperator; Ms. Shirley L Beldia, OA Focal Person ATI RTC XII; Mr. Billy Maratas, representative MARO-Magpet; personnel of DA-ATI and Staff of 72IB.

"Some of our trainings were delayed due to COVID-19 Pandemic but that will not hinder us from going to your places and give knowledge on livelihood agriculture and trainings. We are here for three days and we hope that you will learn something from us that you can share it in your neigborhood. We will be releasing starter kit on the last day, 10 free range chicken each participant to be specific," Ms. Shirley L Beldia said in her message.

Moreover, the activity will be the first training to be conducted at Gabay-Bayawanon Integrated Farm School operated by 72IB. Said training will also be facilitated by the troops of 72IB and the supervisory group of DA-ATI.
