TALAKAG, Bukidnon - Several Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) caches for weapons and explosives in four different locations in Bukidnon were simultaneously raided by the 1st Special Forces Battalion under the 403rd Infantry Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army on September 15, 2020.
Eight (8) high-powered firearms, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), ammunition and medicine were captured by the unit within the guerilla base of the CTG operating in Kitanglad Mountain Range of Bukidnon.
The location of the CTG caches were pinpointed by former NPA terrorist who voluntarily surrendered to the 1st Special Forces Battalion. They no longer support the communist agenda, thus gave up their arms cache.
With the mass surrender of veteran NPA terrorists, loss of weapons and firepower, waning support from the masses, and an irrelevant armed struggle, the Communist Terrorist Group is in the brink of collapse.
Col Ferdinand T Barandon, Commander of the 403rd Infantry Brigade assured that “all NPA terrorists who surrender will be treated with respect and dignity. They will be assisted by the government to be rejoin society. Those who insist to remain on the path of terrorism will be condemned to the tragic end they are bound to meet.”
The Silent Professionals of the 1st Special Forces Battalion serving under the 403rd (Peacemaker) Infantry Brigade continue their selfless sacrifice as champions of peace, paving the way for further economic development in Bukidnon.
