PAGRO Extends Assistance to Coco Farmers in MisOr



CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental - In line with the implementation of the Department of Agriculture (DA) on the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” or “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa Covid-19,” the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRO) and the 58th Infantry 'Dimalulupig' Battalion distributed a total of 3,000 coconut seeds on September 9, 2020, to selected barangays in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental that are qualified for coconut dispersal project.

The barangays include San Juan, Linabu, Camuayan, Samay. These are the recipient-communities of dwarf variety seedlings validated by the PAGRO and Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Misamis Oriental.


The activity was also attended by Julie Buzarang and Charlie M Nacaya of PAGRO, Hon. Felix G Vertidazo, Brgy Chairman of Camuayan, Hon. Claresa E Baculio, Brgy Chairwoman of Linabu , Hon. Teresito A Ranan, Brgy Chairman of San Juan , and Hon. Arnulfo E Yamut Jr, Brgy Chairman of Samay. Moreover, the farmers' associations of the barangays were represented by the president of each organization.

Through the ELCAC initiative, more farmers are targeted to be included in the projects or programs of various agencies in the agricultural sector.
