
The DTI training was made possible through the "Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa," a livelihood and entrepreneurship program of the department. These interventions were conducted by the PTF-ELCAC under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster in attaining durable peace and sustainable development in the province of Bukidnon.
The training benefited FRs who surrendered to 88IB and became members of POs which were organized by Community Support Teams in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) and formerly Conflict-Affected Areas (ConAAs) in San Fernando, Quezon, and Valencia City. Military personnel was also included in the training for them to be capacitated as livelihood enhancers in other communities that they will be immersing.

Ramel, an FR said, “Dako kaayu ang pasalamat namu sa gi hatagan mi sa DTI ug dugang kahibalo sa unsaun pag patubo ug Mushroom ug pag himo ug dishwashing liquid nga magamit namo sa among panginabuhian. Pwede pa gayud namo makatudlo sa among mga kauban aron mahimong dalan sa among kalambuan.”
(We are thankful for the additional knowledge imparted to us by the DTI on how to produce mushroom and make dishwashing liquid which can provide an additional source of livelihood. We can also share this knowledge to our members that may lead to the development of our communities.”)
Mayor Doromal of Maramag said during the closing program of the trainings, “Naa lang kanunay ang LGU ug ang kasundalohan makig abag kaninyo. Naa ang programa sa gobyerno, pahimuslan nato. Naa mi makig uban, makig kuyug ug dili kalaban. Kitang tanan mga peace loving ug mga peace maker.”
"Ang pag uswag sa nasud, sa lungsod ug sa probinsya naa sa atong tagsa tagsa ka mga kamot. Mag unsa man ang programa sa gobyerno kun wala ang tao nagpaluyo niini kay gi mugna mana alang para sa mga tao. Walay gobyerno kun walay tao kay gi tukod ang gobyerno tungud ug alang sa tao. Daghang salamat sa inyuhang tanan, wish you all the best sa pagpa-uswag sa atong panginabuhian,” the Mayor added.

Provincial Director Eriberto Taban-ud Jr. of DTI in Bukidnon assured that products of the FRs and POs will be marketed and will provide an alternative sources of income. He also thanked 88IB for the continued support of their efforts in giving opportunities to those who need these livelihood programs.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Jorge Baula as representative of the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) for Region 10, Vice Mayor Edison Laure of Maramag, and Mr. Junar B Merla, OIC of Business Development Division of DTI Bukidnon.
Ltc Franklin Fabic, Commanding Officer of 88IB, uttered “Ang ating gobyerno ay totoo at di nagsisinungaling na tutulongan kayung lahat. Ginagawa lahat ng ating gobyerno para kayo ay matulungan, para umangat ang inyung pamumuhay. Ang hiling ko lang inyo, sa pamamagitan ng pagtuturong ito, dalhin ninyu ito sa inyung mga mga kommunidad. Ang DTI ay nandyan para tulungan kayung lahat. Ang 88IB ay nandyan din para tulungan kayung palaguin ang inyung mga kabuhayan sa naibahagi sa inyong bagong kaalaman. Ako ay nanalig na sana ito ang magbibigay ng bagong simula para kayo ay makapag buo ng magandang pangkabuhayan sa inyung mga lugar, pamilya, at sa inyong organisasyon.”
