Explosives recovered as NPA Militia cut ties with Terrorist NPAs



MATI CITY, Davao Oriental - Two explosives left by a former Secretary of the New People's Army (NPA) weighing ten (10) kilograms each were recovered by 28th Infantry Battalion troopers at Sitio Tagbobolo, Brgy Sainz, Mati City, Davao Oriental on October 23, 2020.

According to the tipster, said explosives were entrusted to him by a certain alias "Do,", the former Secretary of a Communist Terrorist Group in Davao Oriental sometime in October 2019 at the vicinity of Sitio Mabugnao of Brgy Marayag, Lupon town purposely to inflict damage to the troops conducting security operations in the area.


The said recovery was made possible after the tipster felt the sincerity of the government in totally Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict through the implementation of PRRD's Executive Order (EO) 70 as the government sees Good governance as key to End Insurgency problem in the country.

It can be recalled that a few months ago, alias "Do" or "Edoy" was killed in an encounter with the troops of 28IB near the boundary of Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro.

Lt. Col. Alexander D. Banatao, the Commander of the 28th Infantry Battalion, commended the initiative of the tipster and calls on the remaining NPA members as well as their Militias and Mass Supporters to cut ties with the terrorist NPAs and return to the folds of law in order to live a peaceful life with their families.
