IP Youths of Paquibato District undergo TESDA Training for Animal Production

BUNAWAN, Davao City
- In celebration of the Indigenous People’s (IP) month this October, the 1003rd Infantry “Raptor” Brigade headed by BGEN NOLASCO A MEMPIN PA, in coordination with TESDA-Wangan opened the 29-day Animal Production NCII (Animal-Poultry) Training for the 25 IP Youths from Brgy Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City on October 05, 2020 held at Wangan National Agricultural School (WNAS), Calinan District, Davao City.

Present during the ceremony were Mr Felipe C Hiqual Jr, Vocational School Administrator and Engr Melanie M Domingo, Vocational Instruction Supervisor of TESDA-WNAS.

The said training is under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) of TESDA wherein IP youths are given P160.00 each as daily training allowance.

Aside from this, each participant also received P500.00 as communication allowance and another P500.00 as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) allowance. The training is free of tuition and assessment fee.

This training aims to educate our IP Youths and provide them livelihood skills so they could help improve the socio-economic activities in their respective communities.

It is also an effective approach to keep them away from the Communist Terrorist Group’s (CTG) recruitment activities wherein they are vulnerable target.

The training is a convergence between the TESDA and 1003Bde in support of EO70 which aims to end local communist armed conflict.
