The surrenderee identified as alias Izza, 30 years old, has also yielded one (1) COLT M16 rifle with a defaced serial number, one (1) magazine for the M16 rifle with twenty-nine (29) ammunitions, one (1) 9mm Pistol with serial number 55100052 with one (1) magazine, and seven (7) ammunitions.
According to alias Izza, she was forced by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to keep the said war equipment.
This incident showed that the NPA terrorist is using their force and terroristic act to intimidate innocent people no matter what it takes in order for them to accomplish their terroristic activities.
She also revealed that she could no longer take in her conscience what the organization was tasked her to do.
Likewise, she was afraid that she would be killed by her comrades if they would know her plan to surrender. Hence, she wanted to live peacefully together with her family as what other law-abiding citizens do. These were just a few of her reasons why she wanted to surrender to the 3IB troops.
“It’s a clear manifestation that the local populace in our area of responsibility is no longer blinded by the wrong ideologies imprinted to them and has already awakened on the truth behind the black propaganda made by these terrorist groups. Consequently, they voluntarily support and help the government initiatives and its efforts to end this local communist armed conflict, “ LTC Tayamen said.
