Mushroom Processing and Product Development Training for Raptor Troops

BUNAWAN, Davao City - The 1003rd Infantry “Raptor” Brigade under the leadership of BGEN NOLASCO A MEMPIN PA successfully conducted a one (1) day Mushroom Processing and Product Development Training on October 12, 2020 at its headquarters in Purok 9, Brgy Mahayag, Bunawan District, Davao City.

The training was administered by Ms. Glady Mae N. Lutarte, Science Research Specialist 1 and Ms. Carmelinda L. Domo, Project Staff, both from Department of Agriculture (DA) XI, Davao Region Central Experiment Station (DARCES) to the members of the 1003rd Brigade and Battalion Community Development Teams (CDTs).

The training aimed to equip the Brigade and Battalion CDTs in processing and developing mushroom by-products such as Crispy Mushroom, Tocino Mushroom, Mushroom Patty Burger and other mushroom products.

These trained CDTs in return will teach the members of the People's Organization (PO) who are engaged in mushroom production in far flung areas in order for them to have an additional and sustainable income to support their families and prevent them from Communist Terrorist Group’s (CTGs) influence and recruitment activities.

Meanwhile, BGEN MEMPIN expressed his gratitude to the members of DARCES, DA XI for imparting their expertise in processing and developing mushroom by-products which will greatly help the members of the POs to have an additional income and sustainable livelihood.
