One (1) CST composed of Ten (10) personnel of Alpha Company of this unit led by Sgt Mervin D Tupag (Inf) PA while conducting Community Support Program (CSP) was harassed by the CNTs resulting to the injury of one civilian Mr. Eli C. Apacible, DepEd Teacher of Hitaob Elementary School.
The attending physician diagnosed the aforementioned victim to had a contusion on his lower left ear and slightly cracked jaw (left side) by hitting his face to a hard surface and was declared on stable condition. The harassment was coming from the North East of the Sitio on the far side of the riverbank estimated to be 500 meters from the temporary patrol base of the team.

The unit deployed the CSP team in collaboration with the LGU in bringing peace and development to the community and it has been responding positively to the programs of the government. However, said the attack was made to intimidate and terrorize the civilians residing in the said community.
In his statement, LTC Jezreel J Diagmel, Commanding Officer of 36IB said, “this barbaric action made by the CNTs propagate distress in the community and disrupt peace and development initiatives. It manifests their true intentions of deception. I call on the Surigaonons especially the people of Tandag City to condemn these anti-people and development actions of the Communist-NPA Terrorist in our community. Let the voice of the masses be heard and embrace the effort of our government peacefully."
It can be recalled that the area was included in the CSP targeting workshop due to the recovery efforts and resurgence of support from the masses as revealed by the FRs. The Sitio serves as their main supply points of the CNT group operating in the area. Resource control operation was conducted in order to put a stop to the flow of supplies to the armed group and eventually will lead to their surrender due to hunger, fear, and hardships in the movement.
