Former Rebel who opted to live normal life surrenders Firearm

BANAY-BANAY, Davao Oriental - A certain Alejandro Tungal Quino alias "Gace", former front secretary of Guerilla Front 5 of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee of the New People's Army who voluntarily surrendered to the 28th Infantry Battalion under the leadership of LTC ALEXANDER D BANATAO sometime in August 2020 surrenders one (1) KG9 pistol and one (1) smoke grenade on November 5, 2020.

Accordingly, said items were gathered during his stint as a high ranking personality of the Communist Terrorist Group.

As a sign of his genuine intention to return to the fold of the law and help the government in attaining lasting peace in the Province of Davao Oriental, he sought help from Board Member Ian Larcia in turning over the war materials to the Headquarters of 28IB at Brgy Dawan, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

Ltc Banatao expressed his gratefulness to Mr. Quino for turning his back from the harsh environment of terrorism that greatly endangers the lives of innocent civilians and brings terror to communities. He also expressed gratitude to Hon Ian Larcia for the partnership and for being instrumental in the surrender of said war materials.
