PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte
- A joint effort of 27th Infantry Battalion, 1003rd Infantry Brigade, 10th CMO Battalion, Paquibato District PNP and 3012nd, AISS, PAF personnel led by LTC VICTORINO M SEÑO INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 27IB together with 1003rd Infantry Brigade Commander BGEN NOLASCO A MEMPIN PA facilitated the exhumation of the remains of Junjie Caintoy alias BORG, a former high-ranking leader of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) at Sitio Napo, Brgy Paquibato, Paquibato District, Davao City.

Said NPA was brutally killed by his comrades last July 2019 and was buried along a creek line in an isolated area in Sitio Napo. He bore two (2) fatal shot in the head.

The exhumation of the skeletal remains of alias BORG was witnessed by the local officials of Brgy. Paquibato Proper and residents of Sitio Napo, headed by Kagawad Rodriguez, Roly Caintoy, elder brother of the slain NPA, RPSB Panalum, PNP Paquibato, and SOCO personnel.

The discovery of the remains of alias BORG was made possible through the revelation of a former rebel (FR) identified as alias Boning who was also a former member of the same CTG operating in Paquibato District in 2019.

Rolando Caintoy and Roly Caintoy, the father and elder brother of the slain NPA identified the cadaver through his personal belongings.

Roly Caintoy cries for justice for his brother and said “Dili mayo ang iyung ginabuhat. Makaguba mo ug pamilya ug kaugmaon sa mga kabatan-unan. Naog namu! Walay maayong paingan ang inyung kinabuhi samtang naam o sa mal inga dalan. Maangin pa ang ubang pamilya sa inyung mga dautang binuhatan.”

LTC VICTORINO M SEÑO INF (GSC) PA, Commander, 27IB expressed his deepest sympathy to the family of the victim.

“While we condemn this cruel act of the NPA terrorist, we extend our utmost condolences to the family of alias BORG particularly to his father and brother who are present here today. This incident manifests the brutality of the CPP-NPA Terrorist. How come they can bear to end the life of their own member? They have no regard for human lives, killing even their own member. It is contrary to what they are advocating that they are respecting human rights,” he said.

Meanwhile, BGEN NOLASCO A MEMPIN PA, Commander of 1003rd Brigade also conveys his condolences to the bereaved family and condemns the NPA for the unjust killing.

“It is very disappointing that the life of our fellow citizen was lost because of the NPA terrorist inhumane prosecution,” he said.

He then encourages the members of the NPA who are still hiding in the mountains to come down in peace.

“Lay down your arms and return to the folds of the law and we will assist you to be integrated into the mainstream society and live a peaceful life together with your loved ones,” BGEN MEMPIN added.
